** UK FIRST TO MARKET EXCLUSIVE - Antec Kúhler H2O 1220**

The old CLW Vrs HSF ! This will never die...

They do a job that both have have +/-, for me its nice to see something other than HSF come to the market ! The old days of the Intel/AMD HSF is long gone for most of us...

As someone who has never dabbled with closed water cooling solutions and always gone for quiet air cooled solutions (I have a silver arrow) I was wondering what these 'many added benefits' might be?

space in the case

ability to use any ram module no matter the height

compatible with many cases due to being able to mount teh rad on the top or the back.

Ease of fitting,

I'm always tempted by these AIO coolers, however I keep talking myself out of it with the arguement that I've neaver heard of a pump going wrong on a Silver/Phanteks/Noctua/etc...

AIO are OK. They perform well, at increase cost compared to air coolers, but they can make a build look tidy, and have no worries about RAM height. If you have money to throw around, basically choose whatever looks good to you. If you had budget and price / performance constraints, then that would be another matter.

This looks like just the thing I "need". Not for the current rig though, always thinking ahead ;)

Any chance this will fit on the two rear fans on a Antec 1200?

I'm at work atm, so cannot measure the screw holes on the case. Not that the space on the rad is listed anywhere.

Any more info Rich? Nothing on the Antec site....

As far as I could see, theres no way to fit it there unfortunately. I saw one person who'd mounted one to front 9 drive/3 fan bays but I plan on building a water cooling loop for my GPU so loosing 3 120mm bays isnt an option...

However, every cloud has a silver lining!...

Here is a view facing the 1220 at an upwards angle, above the GPU line, sorry for the blur

Here is a larger view of the same area (at an angle unfortunately)

This is the P.C side view:

Then lastly, here's its home!

I would like to apologise about the dodgy angles, glare and poor image quality. In my defence, I've only uploaded these to show that the Antec 1220 can be fitted to an Antec 1200. Since these pics (3 days ago) I've fitted more under desk lighting along the side of the P.C and ordered another 2 blue cold cathode lights to brighten up the bottom of the case too ;-)

at this time, buying a H80 from another post is a wise choice. isnt it?

Depending on your case, you might even fit the Antec 1220 as standard. I can only say that my case wasn't designed for it... but it 'can' fit. Depending on the style you want. It's up to you :-).
Personally I prefer the 1220

Nice glowing LED ;)

Thanks very much! I've already made some more LED's for underneath the desk - the strips now running alongside the cases side view panel. I've also replaced the black side fan with a clear but opaque led fan.

It'll look better in a couple of days too... I've ordered 2 more LED Cold Cathode lights which will be under the PCIe boards and one behind a cage at the front bottom. Its all relatively cheap but (I consider) well worth it.

I hope you manage to think up a master plan for your cooling solution. Can you fit a 1220 inside your case or is there not enough room/ no holes pre-drilled/ no way to access the other sides (like the top under some kind of cover maybe?)

I think closed loops are becoming more popular as people look at their aircooling cpu blocks and wonder, " Is hanging 1kg of metal off my mobo such a good idea?"
