It looks like trophies are all the rage on the Playstation 3 these days. Following news of trophy arrivals on Uncharted, and details on the Bioshock trophies, comes word that Warhawk's trophies will be hitting on Aug. 27 as part of a free download.

The Warhawk update 1.5 will include more than 50 tophies to unlock based on performance, modes, weapons, vehicles and expansion packs. Some will even work retroactively, meaning you won't need to reearn them.

Here's a run down of the example Warhawk trophies listed over on the UK Playstation site. Keep in mind this is all on the UK site, so it's not clear when this will be hitting the U.S. and other regions.

Community Building Trophies
- Bandwidth Donor: Host a ranked dedicated server for four consecutive hours.
- Rivalry: Win a clan match (red server) as either clan leader or a regular member.

Game Mode Trophies
- Lone Wolf: Play a perfect Deathmatch (first place, no deaths).
- Survivalist: Survive for one minute as the hero in Hero mode.

Vehicle Trophies
- Taxi Driver: Help a teammate capture the flag (in Capture the Flag) or cores (in Collection) by transporting him back to the base, using any vehicle.
- One In A Million: Shoot down an enemy aircraft using the tank's main cannon.

Warhawk Weapons Trophies
- How Did You Do That?: Destroy an enemy aircraft with a Cluster Bomb.
- Tail Shaker: Destroy an enemy aircraft with an Aerial Mine within five seconds of deploying it.

The new update will also add 20 new aircraft paint schemes, 50 new insignias, a playable training tutorial and support for custom music tracks from the Home menu. Home menu support, expanded Home beta? Home must really be getting close to hitting.

Linky

Looks like some might be retroactive - cool. I guess they can do this as WarHawk is one of the only games locked to your PSN account!

Achievements in MP games are a annoying. Now you'll see people just trying to get the trophies. These trophies look ok for a MP game though. Bandwidth Donor sounds like a great idea.

I always see 10-20 servers in MGO that are just for stat padders. Its lame.

they are really useful when you want to level up knifes and stuff robert :p

shame i sold this though, i thought the aiming sensitivity was really weird on this and couldnt get used to it :(

ive never played this so may give it ago. not keen 3rd person veiws though.

You're going to have a terrible time playing warhawk just now. I tried playing it the other day and couldn't believe how good some people were flying the hawks. When the game first came out, I could hold my own quite well, now though, no.

Thats the thing with MP games, you need to start playing them the minute they come out or just stick to beginner servers.

This is the thing that keeps me from buying the game :(

Dont get in the planes then? Thats what i tend to do ive spent far more time on the ground in this game than flying around. I normally use the warhawks just for rapid transit TBH, i know in dogfights it cant be helped but hey if there better than me than im not bothered i may get a lucky kill or 10. They do have ranked servers so at first i dont think it will be that hard, they have also included a tutorial in patch 1.5 so it may help those just starting. Even if i get my butt kicked i still enjoy playing it, the sunday night warhawk battles was a great laugh, miss them TBH, maybe when the new patch is out we may start again.

I used to only use the warhawks when the game first came out, I could do pretty well in dog fights. Now, the other guys blow me out of the air before I even get a chance to see them.

I got bored of flying the warhawks very quickly after being constantly shot down by rp2000!

Training Tutorials

As more and more people join the Warhawk community, we are seeing an even greater difference between skill-levels than ever before. New Warhawk players had to go online in order to learn the game and, invariably, they would encounter enemy players that were, shall we say, not too kind to newbies :) This made it really hard for players to learn the ropes, get familiar with the controls, weapons, etc.

So…The new v1.5 Update includes 4 very simple tutorials that can be played off-line. Each one focuses on the core principals of each of the 3 modes of gameplay: Infantry, Ground Vehicles and Aircraft. Now these tutorials are very, very simple and It wouldn’t surprise me if some of our more hardcore players find them way too pedestrian. But we’re looking to help the *new* player, a player that may not be that familiar with Warhawk or the shooter genre. These tutorials are an invaluable help to a newbie!!!

More details here :)

The patch is now live, The patch comes in at 66MB and adds features such as trophy support and in-game music. Get downloading ans see how many trophies you already have!

Are these retroactive? Not many of them seem to be listed anything like the badges and medals in game (I ain't played for ages but I don't recognise many of these trophies).

Quite a lot of these are rubbish to be honest, as you wouldn't get them normally whilst trying to normally increase your rank (as they don't corelate to medals/ribbons/badges).

These are the types of crappy ones you get in a lot of 360 games, which just mean people spend their lives on gamefaqs etc just trying to get the trophies, then never playing the game again (which is bad news for a game that is online only, for obvious reasons).

Tutorials seem a nice idea, I haven't played the game for ages so maybe the videos may help me :)

rp2000

Well at least they aren't padder trophies, i would much rather have seemingly random trophies than ones that encourage 100 sniper kills or some such, it probably won't affect how people are playing so much.

training  may just have to purchase it then :D

The training videos are free. Today's update is free (I believe) you are thinking of the next booster pack, which costs money, which brings rocketpacks (and other stuff) in September (I think).
