do the 590s suffer the same problem the 560Ti's do with VRAM, because i could imagine some very disappointed customers of they do.

i know something was mentioned about the 570 and 580 having a better bus or something, but i have no idea how this relates to things

*edit*
for higher resolutions some games do have problems with the 590:
We even had one customer with a pair of MARS cards with a DELL 30" unable to obtain smooth game play at 2560x1600 with maximum settings. As such we've being doing some internal testing and found some rather startling results and one of our direct Graphics partners have also found the same results.

may i suggest that you do not use 2x GTX 590, but instead use 4x EVGA GTX 580 *** Hydro Copper 2 3072MB or similar
(i chose it because it was a single slot watercooled card with 3GB VRAM, so it should still fit)

not sure how much it would increase the price by doing it this way, but you'd be looking at over £6.5k just for the parts

The spec I'm reading at the top of the thread says it uses 2 * 580, not 2 * 590. I do agree that a system with that sort of price tag and spec could use more than 2 * 580 though :)

The system is certainly heading in the sort of direction I have planned for my next build, in terms of raw performance. It just doesn't quite hit it with only a single processor, 2 GPUs and one SSD though :)

RAW POWAH!!

so it does. bit of a rip off at £7000 when you can get the equivalent system with an i7 2600k and two air cooled 1.5GB GTX 580s for £2000.

i would have thought that this system with its massive SSD and top end other stuff would be ~£5k

*edit*
oops, just realised i forgot about the SSD, sound card, case and RAM differences between the two. altered the price

when my number come up on a friday night this is gonna be my media pc...... 1 for each room.............. in my 12 bedroom mansion..........

rjkoneill - What are the advantages in going to a single very fast 6 (12HT) core chip over the slower individually dual Xeons with 12 (24HT) cores of the previous spec?

I'm spec'ing a Video editing rig and I'm getting close to decision making time and that info would help.

Ta!

I think OcUK had one of these (X58 based though) at LITS. It looked amazing. OcUK should really put up some product shots of this onto the shop site as what's there doesn't do it justice at all. I know if I was spending that much on a PC, I'd want some evidence of the build quality. I know from experience that the OcUK build quality is excellent across the board, but you guys are missing a trick in not promoting that!
