What is your Ultimate Band? I thought about this whilst having a shower.

I would have:

Drums - Neil Peart (would have chose The Rev but he's no longer)
Guitars - Joe Satriani and Slash
Vocals - Lemmy Kilmister and Stacy Ferguson

I shall add more when I think of more and maybe tweak...

So, who is in yours?

Ultimate band is a bit difficult, because it depends what sort of music you would end up with. Picking an death-metal drummer, with a rock guitarist and a jazz singer could end in a cacophony.

I saw this the other day, and thought that is close to my ultimate band as not only can they all play multiple instruments well, they are all good song writers.

Had a thought...maybe no Slash in my band...

Drums - Neil Peart (would have chose The Rev but he's no longer)
Guitars - Joe Satriani and Mark Knopfler.
Bass - Flea (Red Hot Chilli Peppers)
Vocals - Lemmy Kilmister and Stacy Ferguson.

Wonder if I can sqeeze Chad Kroeger in there somewhere? xD

The trouble with Lemmy is that he can only sing Lemmy songs and every other style he tries to do he ruins it.
Every time he's made an appearance on somebody's album or been on a cover versions album I just cringe.
His effort with the Headcats album was awful and I can't see Neil Peart, Joe Satriani, Mark Knopfler & Flea wanting to play only Motorhead type songs.

Put Maynard James Keenan in there and I think we have a sure fire winner...well certainly in my case. But by god Trent is honestly the best musician of our time in my opinion. So much talent on so many different styles and instruments.

Under the stage in a lead lined box :p

I agree, but I don't think it could ever happen after him and Trent had musical differences a couple of years ago during a project (can't remember what exactly).

Drums - Danny Carey
Guitar - Kim Thayil
Bass - Steve Digorgio
Vocals - Mike Patton

would be weird as hell probably and not sure what style of music it would be.

Lead Vocals/Guitar - Ginger Wildheart
Bass/Backing Vocals - Nikki Sixx (during Brides of Destruction these guys were both members although i pretty sure they missed each other and thankfully both left before the awful 2nd album)
Rythm Guitar - Izzy Stradlin
Drums - Tommy Lee

Really struggled on a suitable rock drummer but felt that keeping a rhythm section together worked well.

Drums: John Bonham
Lead Guitar: Mark Tremonti (BV's too)
Rhythm Guitar: James Hetfield
Bass: Cliff Burton
Vocals: Miles Kennedy

Drums - John Bonham
Guitar - Jimmy Page
Bass - John Paul Jones
Vocals - Robert Plant

I'd also say that Deep Purple Mark II would be a good candidate for a perfect band which actually existed. Rainbow Mark II got 60% of the way there (Blackmore, Dio and Powell) but needed a better bass and keyboard.

From my understanding of it, it was a project called Tapeworm they were both working on. They made a song called "passive" but decided not to go forward with the project however Maynard still decided to release the track with A Perfect Circle on there album Amotive which Trent didn't agree with.

That's the jist of it I think but its all from memory so i could be completely off the mark. Shame Tapeworm didn't work out though as it couldve been epic. Passives a great song as well.

I'm sure Maynard also released "Potions" from those Tapeworm sessions under his Puscifer moniker. Amazing tune.
