Ultimate evil guy

I always liked Alan Rickman in Die Hard. And in fact Charles Dance as Benedict in Last Action Hero even though the film itself is crap.

Any Alan Rickman Villain is always awesomely played. He's the best thing in the Harry Potter films as well.

Since the OP said coolest "looking" villain. I always liked the evil fella from Hellraiser or Freddy Krueger. Probably my age I guess !

I thought Col. Hans Landa by Christoph Waltz in Inglourious ******** was a insanely good evil guy.

Althought it might not be a "classic" I think he has to be one of the most evil characters I have seen for ages :)

My vote goes to Hannibal Lecter as well - creepy mofo.

Closely following would be The Joker, The Emperor and possibly Patrick Bateman from American Psycho.

Sylar is not too bad either...
