I just found the original Demo Disc 1 from 1994 for the Playstation! It actually runs on the PS3! I really got emotion seeing the Dinosaur and MantaRay tech demos. Then came the playable demos of Battle Arena Toshinden, Wipeout and Loaded!

The previews section also made me smile. Anyone remember Jumping Flash?! And the music... I'm so happy to have this disc lol. Anyone else remember it? I think it either came with the first edition of UK Playstation Mag or the PS1 itself.

I had the demo with the monster trucks original build on it. It was a timed demo. I remember when the actual game came out some time later it was nothing like the demo and boring.

PS1 was emense.

Found these when I was clearing stuff out the other week, kept them aside as I couldn't immediately think which recycling bin to throw them in!! Never realised they work on PS3!! :

The one in the far top right has a special place in my memories, anyone else got that one?

Manta Ray demo and Dinosaur demo disc came with the PS1, in the 1st batches, and you got it posted to you when you sent off the registration card, on slightly later versions.

How spooky, I was putting the xmas decs back in the loft at the weekend and decided to try my PS1 copy of Broken Sword on the slim – worked fine, but I also found my demo 1 disc, along with Tekken, Ridge Racer, Resident Evil, Tomb Raider (first one) and a whole host of others; if I ever find the bag I bunged the console in, I’ll find a bunch more :D

Wasn’t there a trailer for ‘The Net’ on this disc also? Or am I thinking of an old Mega CD disc?

My mate Neil was the first supplier in the UK to have the original PS1 - literally bought several suitcases full on release day in Tokyo then jumped on a plane back to the UK.

When he got back we spent 48 hours non-stop wiring them up with scart cables, playing Ridge Racer and selling them to people who drove down to Slough from all over the country.

Now thats something to remember.

:D

Holy sweet beans!

That takes me back some!

If I remember correctly, the demo disc (:D) with Moterhead on the cover had Nightmare Creatures on it? G-Police? I can't recall anymore, or even if that's true.

Does anybody remember the demo of Tombi? I used to love playing it as it seemed to last for ages and was just SO much fun.

I couldn't agree more. :D The irony was, that all the demo had was a truck and some landscape, and you make your own fun. :p Did you ever manage to drive over the edge of the surrounding mounds and drive into the skybox? :D

DAYMN SO MUCH NOSTALGIA!!1 :D :D :D

I have ALL of those RP!

My dad used to buy me the magazine's back in the day. The Official Playstation Magazine. £4.99 I think it used to cost. :)

Got all the disks still but not the cases they came in. Mr Domino was one of my favourite demo's. :)

And yeah Naffa, I remember the demo of Tombi, Tommi Makinen Rally and Theme Hospital were on the same demo.

Tombi demo lasted forever as well! :o

I just did a quick bit of research, and it looks like Tombi and Tombi 2 fetch around £50 a piece on the bay.

****ing hell! That's expensive. I think they are quite rare because my sister was talking about getting Tombi to play on our half broken launch PSX.

The thing with these old games is that we've been spoiled with eye candy so much over the past 4 or 5 years that they just look absolutely horrific now, to the point that it detracts from the experience. Well, to me anyway.

I really want to play through Resident Evil 2 again, knowing that I'm much older now than the first time round and subsequently, not rubbish at games anymore. But I know the minute I put the disk in and see the pixellated crapness I'll just want to cry. :(

For me, good gaming memories are usually best left in the past, and not attempted to be replicated. That said I've been enjoying Gran Turismo lately! :)

Which one is in the top right? And why is it "special" (to me) ?

Yep I have that one (somewhere, probably in a box in the attic in my parents' house)!

Not quite the same level of nostalgia, but does anyone else have fond memories of this:

Really loved that music. Was the first disc I put in my PS2 too, second one was GT3! Way back on Christmas day 2001.

Was that the one with Kiroshi on it? The wierd puzzle game where you played as a man vs some black and white cubes? That was awesome if it is the game im thinking of :D

If it's the one I'm thinking of it's got a demo of Ridge Racer 4 and Gex ?

Not sure why it's special to you. I'll have to dig it out of my PS1 stuff and fire it up in the slim. :)

That was in my Demo One. Along with some pirate ship game, think it was called Overboard or something.
