Recently bought the Asrock 34 inch 1440p ultra-wide monitor, Trying to put new build together I'm happy with it my GTX 970 less so frames have taken a big hit at this new resolution so sadly after nearly 10 years it's time to retire it and the rest of my custom loop :(

I mainly play MMOs WOW mostly and some older strategy games fps stuff I use my console for that

Already have a decent PSU HX850I about 7 years old so going to re-use that and will transfer my Samsung SSD over and my 3.5 inch HDD
cooler I have on order ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 360 A-RGB.

So Budget £1k

for case, CPU motherboard , ram and GPU

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £862.96 (includes delivery: £7.99)

Case is about £80 can't find it on ocuk Cooler Master TD500 Mesh v2.

The GPU is not in stock the Ryzen CPU I picked does it have integrated graphics ? So I can the least get it up and running and add that later I've definitely found that useful in the past anyway it's a must-have if the GPU dies at some point, least I can do basic stuff.

Your thoughts, anything I've got wrong or could change ?

yes, you will be fine without a gpu for a while
But super weak for gaming

consider Radeon 7700XT, it has been getting good deals recently dropping to 420ish and good 20-25% more performance than 6700xt

ram would be better 6000MHz, faster and not more expensive

If you can stretch the 7800xt is a beast at 1440p.

As above really...7700xt not that much more for 25% uplift in performance and added the 6000c30 corsair ram...you can drop to teamgroup delta rgb 6000c30 for £110, it's not expo but should work, though been on preorder for awhile now..just go for the tighter timings if looking. otherwise theres the corsair non rgb 6000c36 on ocuk for £109.99. you could save £20 dropping to the asus tuf gaming wifi board also, but i like the strix board you have, and with price drop think it's decent price
If you can stretch to the 7800xt, then even beter for gpu, seeing as you have a 1140p ultrawide...a fair few pixels to push

This is mega overkill for a 7600, you could even use the box cooler, but a peerless assassin would do the job very well for £35.

Alternatively, the 7700 non-X has an improved stock cooler (wraith prism).

Yeah i know the cooler it's heavly discounted at the moment bit of an impulse buy i was looking at air coolers for about £60 it wasn't much more, the case can accomadate it so i thought why the hell not didn't know about the peerless assassin.

I do have a corsair H100i brand new and sealed from 2012 ( was a RMA replacement that never got used) but dont think there are any retrofit kits available for it, i was thinking the MB i chose was over the top aswell i'll get a cheaper one got the case on order. the above looks great and on budget cheers.

Thanks too everyone else for the suggestions. :)

I'd still rather have the 7800xt gfx card in there at 1440 and only about £50 more.

The peerless Assassin is such a steal for the £35 or so that it is.
