hi, i have a duel screen setup and use ultramon. im just wondering if anyone else has the following problem and has any idea on how to resolve it. i have both screens at 1280x1024 resolution, however i run counterstrike on the primary screen at 800x600 the seperate resolutions on both monitors is allowed however, when the game loads and the resolution changes it seems to shift everything to the right slightly. for example if irc is loaded up on the second monitor it is moved across the screen and thus can only see half of the irc window, plus icons that lye on the far right of the desktop of the primary screen appear on the left of the secondary screen.

if anybody knows if this can be resolved i will be grateful thanks.

oh and i know if i run cs at 1280x1024 its fine but i prefer the lower resolution.

i guess i should have put this in the monitors section, can a mod move it if they see this thanks.

This is a Windows issue with running 3D at a lower res than the desktop whilst having screens to the right of the primary monitor. It still thinks pf the desktop as 1280 pixels wide when you launch the game, so when running the lower res 3d application it shifts the right desktops contents over enough to let the entire primary screens worth of desktop on the overall desktop. You can see this more clearly if you use ultramon to set different wallpapers on the 2 monitors, youll see the primary monitors wallpaper shove onto the right monitor.

A few possible solutions are: have your secondary montiro on the left of the primary....or run your game at the desktop resolution....or, use an ultramon shortcut to swap the display properties position of the 2 monitors so windows thinks the secondary is on the left, then start the game, and then return the display properties to reflect that the secondary monitor is sitting on the right.
