Hi,

I currently have a 34" LG 2560x1080 IPS monitor that I've been pretty happy with, but having worked with some higher resolution displays recently I was thinking of getting a 3440x1440 (or better?) but they all seem to be VA panels now.

I know every panel technology has positives and negatives but from looking at comparison videos the ghosting and poor viewing angles on VA seem worse (for me) than IPS.

Is IPS no longer "a thing" for monitors, and if so, are some VA panels better than others?

OLED seems to be the big thing but I don't like the idea of burn in at all and I understand text clarity can be bad?

Suggestions and pointers toward good info would be really appreciated!

What will you be using it for?

A modern OLED screen is fine if you're mostly using it for gaming. Some people (like me) even use one for eight hours a day for work and haven't experienced burn-in. You need to test text clarity for yourself to see if it's a problem.

Don't order that ASUS above lol, no idea why that's been recommended based on what you've asked for so far.

Work and gaming - a lot of document work at the windows desktop which is why burn in and text clarity has me a bit worried about an OLED. I'm old so gaming is more RTS and MMO than FPS these days!
