I currently have a Samsung ultrawide 34 inch 1440p monitor which I've had for 7 years. Unfortunately it seems to be on the brink of failing. The power connection point is flakey and the screen flickers sometimes. Wondering about what to replace it with.

PHILIPS Evnia 34M2C6500-34 Inch OLED WQHD Curved Gaming Monitor, 175 Hz, 0.03 ms, HDR400, Ambiglow, FreeSync Premium Pro, G-Sync comp. (3440x1440, 2X HDMI, DisplayPort, USB Hub) dark gray

Dark Slate colour for slightly over budget

Curved monitor though so maybe rules out your interest.
Thanks for the suggestions, will check them out. My Samsung is curved so no issues with that.

Is oled really suitable for desktop usage though? I'm a little wary of burn in.

They have preventative features usually like pixel shifting on or being able to pixel clean every 4 to 12 hours. To reduce the chance of burn in taking place.

Should also come with a burn in warranty for 3 years for peace of mind.

This Evnia is probably the best ultrawide QD-OLED currently out when it comes to value, seriously. Doesn't lack anything in particular, you get Ambiglow as a gimmick, it has RGB calibration unlocked, unlike its older white brother 8600 (for whatever reason), calibrated out of the box and 3-year burn-in warranty in EU. The exact same panel as the AW3423 but it's 30% less where I live, I just snagged one for effin' 450 quid. For a QD-OLED. Bonkers.

Where did you get one for £450 if you don't mind me asking? Cheapest I can see is about £530.

I'm outside UK and that's roughly how much it cost with the discount I got + you get a pair of Philips BT headphones if you buy before the end of November.

The absolute best deal on oled monitors considering the specs/price and the added bonus.

The Dell is still a slightly better monitor but it rarely gets significant discounts round here and you can't buy directly from them so for 30% more it's absolutely not worth it considering it's the exact same panel.

If you can get the Dell for around the price of the 6500, go for it but if it's significantly more I'd buy the Evnia.

Wondering what mini led is all about? Worth considering?

yup. That's the FALD design where you have a 200-1000 of LED's behind the screen, and it adjusts each LED depending on what is on the screen, ie if you have a black screen apart from a candle in the middle, only the LED's in the center are lit. So black level will be very good.

Checkout review of the AOC MXN VA model.

Edge lit is crap.
