Not sure if HDMI 2.1 is really needed at all on an UW monitor as game consoles don't normally support UW resolutions and PC's use the DP input

Think consoles can only output 1920x1080 or 2560x1440 when connected to a 3440x1440 UW monitor
someone please correct me if am wrong

If I'm spending £700+ on a monitor it better be lasting me more than one console generation, lol.

That's just me tho. I'd rather have something with 2.1 this late in the day.
