Hello,

I've been discussing my graphics problem in the thread titled "7600gt agp 3dmark 2005 score normal?". I think i may of found out what the problem is, hence this new thread.

I was looking in the system information part of the 3dmark 2005 and it says that the memory clock of my 'gainward bliss 7600gt AGP' is 702.6 MHz. The information that comes with the card
(http://www.gainward.net/en/product/product_detail_p006.html)
says it should be 1400 MHz which means i'm getting exactly half power.

The VGA Core clock speed is detected as 561 MHz as is is specified on the gainward site.

Does anybody know what could be the cause of this? Is my card knack-a-rooed?

Just checked my video properties (nvidia classic view) and the max agp rate in the os column is 2x all the rest (gpu, chipset and and optimum?) are set at 8x. How do i change the os to 8x? I tried the little slider bar below the columns but that didn't change anything.

And my dog has just ate my lunch (rice, tuna and veg) while i wasn't looking. :(

Probably need an updated chipset driver. Dont know that particular board, but I know that with 'P4 boards which used SIS chipsets' needed a driver to enable the AGP Port. Without the driver the Nvidia cards reverted to PCI Emulation Mode!!!! Very slow.

when you say i need an updated chipset driver what exactly do you mean? I've got the nforce 5.11 drivers and the the latest nvidia drivers (93.71?). Could someone explain and perhaps point me in the right direction?

Drivers for that board come off the nVidia site. You want the nForce 3 ones, they contain everything you need.

The 5.03 nforce drivers were the best for that board. Especially as the LAN port is highly flaky with anything but those :/

Try those out perhaps? And make sure that the gart driver installs + all agp options are enabled in bios?
