I have an APC Smart-UPS model 1000 left over from my old office. The sticker on the back says 670W 4.5A max. I'd like to know whether I can safely use it with my new system.

I know diddly about electrics, but I do know that my new psu is 700W. Does this mean that the UPS would be unsafe to use, wouldn't work at all, or just that the battery would drain faster in the event of a power cut?

Full system which would be run through the UPS is FX60, 2x ATI X1900, 2x WD 150 Raptors, Swiftech Apex watercooling, Dell 2405FPW 24" LCD, X-Fi Fatal1ty. And a fair bit of overclocking :D

Advice appreciated :)

Well i have the 1500 model and run 2 rigs off of it, one is a p4 carp system and the other is the one in my sig and it barely fills the load bar it has on the front. Also if you go to the APC website they have a thing where u specify ** setup and it recommends what UPS to get, if it recommends something less than what u have u'll be fine.

Here is the APC link btw:
