Hi guys,

I've just had a scare with my PC (see sig for details). After coming home, I decided to turn it on, and it wouldn't boot. Normally when I turn my PC on, all of the fans power-on (100%) for about 2-3 secs, then the fans power down from 100% while the PC POSTs , & loads windows.

But what happened earlier was, all of the fans powered-on (100%), and the PC wouldnt move onto the next step. It was just sitting there, blasting away, but not booting. I did notice my CPU fan was only giving a half-hearted attempt at spinning, but I dont know if this is how it normally powers-on (I've never had any problems before, so I've never checked the CPU Fan on boot before). I tried turning it on a couple of times - I checked all connections - still no joy. I unplugged the power lead out of the the back of my PSU. I plugged it back it (it gave a crackle) then I turned on the PC, and it worked as normal.

Since I've booted, I've checked my temps - everything was normally (Speedfan reported 25C for my CPU, which is what I would expect), its been perfectly stable, normal operation, I can game, etc etc..
I'm stumped, does any1 know what might be wrong.
Below is a screen of some stuff, it might mean more to you, than it does to me.
Btw, the temps are slightly elevated because I was running some games. When idle, my CPU is in the high 20C's.
Also, speedfan has always given the wrong readings for my Fan's RPMs.

Hello again,

I think I may have found the problem. The CPU Fan on my stock Intel heatsink is failing. Or atleast I think it is. In the bios, I've turned on "Alert for CPU Fan Failure", and I'm getting the alert every now and again. I guess I'll get another heatsink, & hopefully this will fix the problem.

Does any1 know how I should contact Intel with regards the Intel Heatsink/Fan. I'm going to buy a good 3rd party heatsink/fan, but I feel I'm due a replacement from Intel.
