I'm having problems connecting to the following website:

www.interactivebrokers.com

I have a connection to the internet, which is being used by two computers. I am unable to connect with either computer, but I am able to view any other sites I like.

I have checked with a couple of friends, and they are both able to connect to the above website with no problems.

Any ideas? Thank you.

I am also on Entanet. I have phoned their technical support. They told me to change the MTU setting which I did, then restart the modem, leaving it off for at least 5 minutes. Then they told me to switch off any firewalls. I've done all of this, but it still won't work.

Trifid, it sounds like you're getting on the site (that is the site my friend was directed to and he saw a webpage), so it's not all Enta users that are unable to reach it.

I've tried pinging the following IP address: 206.106.137.3 which is what a friend of mine gave me as the IP for www.interactivebrokers.com, but it times out. I have also done a trace route and it fails at the 12th step.

Is it therefore a problem with the ISP?

What should I do to fix the problem?

I don't know what that is :-(

go here....

http://adsl24.co.uk/centralstatus.php

and look at the ip address. if it starts with 78.32.x.x then this might be a problem. there is another thread on adslguide where people cannot access a few sites. everyone affected has an ip in this range. people whose ip addresses start 87.x.x.x seem to be ok.

i'm a 78.32.x.x user myself and can't access these sites.....

edit: here's the thread i was on about.....

contact enta with the link to that thread on adslguide. it seems quite clear what the problem is. only customers in a certain ip range of theirs have a problem so it's upto them to fix it. :)
