Unable to Format

I'm trying to format a HDD. I go into My Computer right click the HDD and format when it comes up with the error message 'Windows Was Unable To Complete The Format'

What's wrong and how can i format it?

open a command prompt

format (drive letter):
adding /q will do a quick format.


you wont be cable to format your windows drive from windows if you trying to do that
