unable to get back to game when I ALT+TAB

IF im playing a game and then alt tab to chat to someone or use the net, i used to be able to alt tab back to the game and carry on playing.

Now when i go back to the game al i get is my desktop but with no mouse control, the game window looks as if its maximizing but doesnt.

any ideas?

i have the same problem in windows xp, no idea. Have been looking for an answer also

same here, usually only with steam though

Some games will Alt & Tab without issues. Some games just wont.

I got around that problem in steam by running the games in windowed mode. Alt tab works fine then, no probs.

I did find also when alt tabbing out of full screen in CS:S and then alt tabbing back in, it halfed my fps. go figure.
