Unable to Install Display Drivers for 7950GX2

Guys,
Havin major problems installing display drivers for my XfX 7950GX2.
When installing the drivers it comes to detect the second GPU on the 7950GX2, then the monitor goes into standby. The monitor light flashes and the screen goes black, the PC remains on though.
About 3 minutes later the monitor comes on saying the nv4_disp display driver has stopped working normally. Save your work and reboot the system to restore full display functionanlity.
I restart the PC to find it hasnt installed the diplay drivers.

I have done a fresh install of windows and get same problem, even flashed BIOS to 1303 Asus latest.

I installed everything in the right order, i/e chipset drivers first, (6.86).
I am having the same problem with all Nvidia drivers, the only one I have found to install is the NGO optimized driver 91.37.

Dont tell me I have to send yet another Nvidia card the RMA route.

Nope it dont work, boots fine then gets to the point where windows should start and the monitor goes into standby again.
Funny thing is I have had it all working up until the point I tried installing new 91.47 then it all went pear shaped.
