Unable to use 1440x900 in vista

My son has recently installed vista on his computer but is unable to select 1440x900 for his 19 inch widescreen monitor.

He has an 1950pro installed and was using the most upto date drivers.

Has anyone had the same problem and how did you fix it. Any help would be appreciated.

Install the monitor drivers, then the rez's should appear.
Or untick in the monitor tab, hide resolutions this monitor can't support (right click desktop, properties, settings, click advanced and untick the hide)

Better though to just goto the monitors web site and download them, saves all the hassle.

Tried the website, Fujitsu Siemens, and no drivers available for the monitor.

Also tried the uncheck modes supported and this did not work either.

He has a dual boot system and XP works fine but Vista will not it's baffled me.

Just tried my boys monitor on my Biostar 200n which has an ATI 1600pro and it worked fine at 1440x900 so it looks like it's his 1950pro that won't do it.

solved it flashed his motherboard bios and it's sorted out the problem.
