hi all,

i have been trying to take my dedicated gpu out and just use the onboard as recommended on here, problem is whenever i take the gpu out, there is only some power going to the motherboard such as all the fans turns on except one and no signal to the tv.

i have enabled igpu multi in bios but not changed the primary graphic adapter as i didnt think that would make any difference as the igpu is already activated. i thought maybe i needed to update bios and that proves harder than i thought too as i have tried 4 different methods and none works.

so i have got 2 problems, hoping someone can help me.

my specs are below:

Mainboard: ASRock Z87 Extreme 4
Processor: Intel i5 4570S 2.90GHz
Memory: Kingston Hyper Beast 16GB PC3-12800
GPU 1: nVidia GeForce GTX 480
Power: Corsair CX600 Modular
Case: Phanteks ethoo pro m tempered glass
Hard Disk: Seagate 1TB
ssd: 256gb
hard disk: 2tb

many thanks

have you even tried it with IGPU set as primary? i have myn set yo IGPU in order to use my onboard gpu

ok guys,

bit of an update, it started working on its own without me doing anything else apart from what i mentioned.

but i just tried switching it on this morning and it did the whole part power going to motherboard again, while i was looking around the motherboard, i noticed there was one screw missing to the pc case that the motherboard goes on so i pressed on that part and tried to switch it on and guess what? it switched on, does that screw really make a difference?

the screw can stright the board and align cpu pins or any other micro connections.

There is no way to know but, yes can happen.

Common issue is overtight cpu cooler bending the board slightly (depending on case) and u end up having a black screen.

ok, another update:

i have stripped it out and put that extra screw in and it still doesnt work unless the gtx 480 is in the pc. i still think it has something to do wit the weight of the gpu.
