unbeleiably slow net speed, why!?!?

very annoyingly my net is going super slow once again, it used to do this when i first got my computer, and here it is again when i reinstall windows, it can go so slow sometimes, and even make me loose the net resulting in my needing to disable and enable to network card, and even sometimes its knocks the whole net out for everyone on the network and i have to go to the hub thing that ntl supplied and unplug that for a minute and then plug it back in to get the net back

can anyone help as to why this happens? its so frustrating as i have no clue why this happens and it only happens to me, but i can knock the net for everyone sometimes.

im currently trying to download something that when it starting was getting 40kb/sec now at 1-5 kb/sec and this gives me very little else to use for browsing

Could be others downloading on your network who are using the bandwidth or it could be that the torrent you are downloading is lacking in seeders. It could be a million factors.

i know it sucks so many reasons why it could be happening, though its really weird that it only ever happens to me like this.

all other pcs are off so its not them, im not downloading from a torrent, im downloading software using firefox

so is this just something im going to have to deal with?
