I've had *exactly* the same issues with the first 4 games in your list. Not got any of the last 5.

That bit on singularity - you have to approach the door so that the arm tries to grab you, then defeat all the mutants that come at you. Only once you've done that does the fence open iirc.

Its supposed to feel empty. You're thousands of feet below the sea in a city thats tearing itself apart and you don't 'belong' there. You're supposed to be isolated bar the voice comms you get.
Thats a bit vague, though Stalker is supposed to be difficult. If you aren't strong enough then you need to go back and find some better gear.
You must be doing it wrong then ><
Not much you can do if you don't feel like starting from the beginning again.
You clearly missed the entire point of being a professional assassin. It is very easy to simply grab a strong gun and go psycho, gunning down everyone in sight, the hard part is getting in, killing your target, and getting out, without anyone knowing you were there at all.

STALKER is hard. But that what makes it so good. Once you get into it, it's a very immersive game. Took me a while to get into too! You need to build up your gear. There is no way you can complete it with the start weapons/equipment.
I would say stick at it. Really excellent game, with a good story, and a great game world to explore.
As for Hitman, the whole concept of the game is to stay hidden like Evilsod said. That's what makes the game challenging!

yeh I thought so but on my save game I have 1 crappy game and hardly any bulets.
I watched a youtube vid and the dude at the same point has loadsa guns and ammo lol

I got stuck in the exact same spot.
Tried loads of times I just kept dying, no way of killing all the monsters without dying and I couldn't see a way out. I put it down to the game not having been playtested at all well and never played it again.
well maybe the guy on youtube is using a cheat cause on the wlakthough at that point in the game he has all kinds off weapons. I had like 1-2 crap guns and no ammo. It was impossible to kill them all.
