*OVERCLOCKED* Intel Core i7 930 2.80GHz @ 4.00GHz Max / Asus P6TD Deluxe Intel X58 (Socket 1366) DDR3 Motherboard / Patriot Viper 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz DDR3 Bundle £663.99
XFX ATI Radeon HD 5870 XXX 1024MB GDDR5 £349.99
Corsair HX 850W ATX Modular SLI PSU £138.99
Coolermaster RC-1000 Cosmos Silent Full Tower Case - Black £134.98

what we recon?

Ive got HDD's :-P will get a SSD later tho .. .. or might just add:
Corsair Reactor 60GB 2.5" Solid State Hard Drive £145.99

what do we think? do i? or dont i? would you change anything?

There's really no point in spending £138.99 on a PSU when great PSU's are available for under £80.

mysticsniper - my sentiments exactly. im not going to any lower than £100 on a PSU, i want to pay that little bit extra to know that its going to be as efficient now as it will be in 5 years of abusing it like a cheap date!

and im not sure on the case myself, i went with it cause i figured it would be quiet, good airflow. any suggestions? i have also warmed up to the aesthetics of the case i didnt really like the look of it before.

my other initial thought on a case was going to be the antec 1200. your thoughts?

would it be worth throwing in a:

Corsair H50-1 High-Performance CPU Watercooler £63.99

ive not really dabbled in water cooling yet so not sure if its "worth it" yet?

I like antec, they have been quality in the past for me, as I used an 300 series case with a build a couple of weeks ago. If I had the extra monies, I would go for the Corsair Obsidian case. :)

i am quite tempted by the Antec 1200 :-P but then again, looking at the fans with blue LEDs on them? im not really a fan of LEDs on PC fans, would i be able to turn the LEDs off? or would i just get a new set of fans for it?

i know it sounds daft but wasnt sure if you could just turn the lights off, never dealt with lighting up my rig, i kind of find it a bit tacky :-P

altho i am beginning to come around to lighting up water cooling tubes. altho id want to keep it to a "dark"ish green or red with a black case.

im really put off by neons lol. never understood the fascination if im honest.
