the final (esp the 2nd half ) was really good to watch.

Easy to tell they werent experienced players, but that made for a better match imo - not sure how good the penalty save was, in one sense he had dived past it like the commenaty said but it was still too near the middle to make it a difficult save at the same time. It could well be argued given the age / experience any save is a good one :) , esp in a final.

Fair to say the U20 's put in a more professional performance than the grown=ups did vs Scotland , but it will be very interesting to see who is still around at senior level in 5 years time from the U20's because the current setup at club level makes it very hard to bridge that gap

Didn't watch any of this but heard that Solanke was player of the tournament - we're going to win the league!
I've watched him quite a bit for the youth teams and England and he's always been one of those players who's ahead of his peers in his ability and physicality but on the few occasions he's been in the first team he's looked miles behind, that's not damning him just highlighting the gap.
Not surprised we are letting him go though as he has got potential but we have a couple of better players in his age range and position so he probably wouldn't have got another chance.
But yeah, you will win the league now.

Think this a huge problem for all the bigger teams now - Im not sure the loan system is really working (if it ever has beyond brief stays) , I think majority of teams will now sell more of their promising talent for pittance (£5m or something) to lower premiership teams but with a buy back/ first refusal clause for a fixed amount in 2 or 3 years time (£20-30m)

Players either go abroad and then get a bit shocked coming back to the premiership, or they get loaned out here and rarely get games (or stay at the parent club and see a few cup games here and there but nothing that will really allow progress).
