Recommendations for a cheeeep gfx card for my daughters pc has onboard Geforce 6100 at the moment

Requriements
To be able to use nebular over network, dvds, sims, power point etc

needs to be PCi-E

just put it to gether but it keeps accessing the hard disk when idle has 500m ddr400 fitted which should be ok but am guessing the on board gfx is causing problems has a sempron 3000 fitted thought i would get similar performance to 2500 barton
cheers

I think that the 7300 is in that price region. But that uses system memory. An X300 might also be around that price and would probably be a better bet unless you've got loads of spare system memory.

PowerColor ATI Radeon X800 GTO 128MB DDR TV-Out/DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-053-PC)
Price: £39.95 (£46.94 Including VAT at 17.5%)

Over £40, but MUCH better than anything else in that price range.

Might be wrong but I dont think you will see much difference. May be better upping the memory. How much memory is allocated to onboard graphics?

mm not sure in bios its set to (frame size buffer size) 64Mb but under display setting advanced it says 256Mb could this be why it keeps accessing the hd
under system it says 448mb

thought windows was 256mb required 64m for gfx then i have norton internet security which proberbly needs load but should stiill be ok with 512mb ?
