Hi,

I'm always looking for a decent game on the cheap. Over the years plenty of good games haven't quite reached the heights of being outstanding, yet once discounted give a gamer a great experience for a low low price.

So some rules: game must be available for under 10 quid on Steam, should be a major title (non of those indie games) but genuinely be an enjoyable game.

My nomination is: 2012's Sleeping Dogs. Currently the definite edition is 4.99 and is a fantastic game to play.

Cities: Skylines (2015) is currently £5.74 and is the game that Sim City should have been.

It lacks in certain areas, and I wouldn't necessarily call it underrated, as it received a lot of recognition when it came out, but it's definitely a title worth playing, if city builders are to your liking.

Euro Truck Simulator 2 (2013) - one of the most enjoyable and relaxing PC gaming experiences I've had in any game, ever.

Whilst the game might not sound appealing to everyone at a first glance, it is really worth giving a shot, as once you start playing, you get completely immersed in the world the developer has tried recreating. It is genuinely a top-notch title and I don't even like driving simulators all that much. Can't go wrong for £3.74.

The Witcher 2 (2011) can be had for peanuts on sale and is an excellent RPG and a must have for any Witcher fan.

I'd highly recommend picking it up, even though the combat may be a bit wonky at times.

Sid Meier's Civilization V (2010) is currently on sale for just under £5, and includes all DLC that has come out for it to date.

Whilst it is not the latest instalment in the series, it is widely considered the greatest and most polished version of the Civilization games, and probably the best 4X game of all time. It's a must-have for any serious PC gamer. Be careful though, Civ games are the very definition of "time sink".

Europa Universalis IV

It's on sale on Steam at the moment for £8.74, however there is loads of DLC and some of it is pretty necessary to get the best experience out of it.

It's a bit of a pain to learn, it definitely has a learning curve to it, but it's also very rewarding. The game is my favorite strategy game to date, spanning almost 400 years of in game time from 1444-1821, taking place in the world much as it was in 1444.

Besiege is well worth picking up and it is normally quite cheap. An excellent physics sandbox that you can play around with. Very fun.

I keep meaning to get back into this but then I remember how much I've forgotten and I'm too scared to play :D

Mordheim City of the Damned has 66% discount atm. Absolutely fantastic game.
Makes XCOM/2, on the RPG & battle part, looking pathetic and ancient.

Play with Skaven for more fun. :)
(grab the Smuggler & Globadier DLC also, for £1.53 it worth the money)

Mad Max is a great game for a really cheap price, and I'm really enjoying the Witcher 2 at the moment. Dishonoured and Euro Truck 2 are two others that I think I've had good value for money.

I'll also add a shout for Shadow of Mordor, it didn't get near the attention it deserved.

The Arkham series
Mad Max
Farcry3
Shadow of Mordour
Insurgency
Skyrim

Insurgncy and farcry3 are a must, given there price and how dam good they are

The Evil Within! It's like a sequel to Resident Evil 4 in the way it plays and is one of my favourite gaming experiences this year. Only £4.94 for the next 7 hours...

I second the Metro Redux games and also RAGE.
