underated games.

One game that sticks in my mind as underated is 007: Nightfire. Played it multiple times on the PC and am currently replaying it on the PS2 (although the game itself is somewhat different).

It isn't an amazing game but a solid shooter set in the bond universe.

Also XIII is a good shout. Currently replaying this on the Xbox. The Art style manages to keep the game looking pretty fresh considering its age.

Loving this thread, so many games I've put on a wishlist from GOG, oh the memories :D

I'll add a couple to the list.

Shogo: Mobile Armor Division - Loved it when it first came out as I love the whole anime mech thing :D

Hidden & Dangerous - Not sure if this count's as being underrated? Either way it was massively enjoyable for me apart from AI bugs and the constant crashing! Might have to revisit this and see if it's stable to play these days.

Citizen Kabuto - another one that I grabbed when it was cheap for the pc back in the day. Thought the graphics were insane for the time.

Edit: Just chcked, Shogo is on GOG :D Also good shout a few posts above for Giants/Kabuto, missed that!

Vampire the Masquerade
Just awesome that the community fixed the bugs and finished the job for the Developers. Great game.

Still one of my favourite games of all time. Although i'm not aware of what changes the community made. This might result in another play through if significantly different. Anyone got some links?

Condemned never really got massive attention which was quite a shame as it was different for the time.

Going back even further theres Kingpin: Life of crime which was so good but overlooked.

Kingpin woke me up to PC gaming as I just bought my first PC for Champ Manager and C&C and had put thousands of hours into them alone!

I enjoy Game dev tycoon, such a simple little game but lost hours on it.

If im feeling "spacey" an old game called Imperium galactica is sometimes fun, or star wars rebellion.

Glad to see some others mention Singularity already, great game. I regret renting it and not buying it, but I will get a copy some day so I can play it again.

Enslaved is another one, recently got a PC release but I played it some time ago on the 360. Really enjoyed it.

Also, Hostile Waters. Had some RTS elements but also allowed you to take control of AI-controlled units (or create units with no AI for yourself). Bit ropey to play today but has some surprisingly nice features for a game so old, the voice acting is superb and the way the units talk to each other mid-battle (or when nothing is happening) is great.

remember me and bulletstorm for me.
completed bulletstorm last year and had bags of fun.
Only just started remember me but was very suprised at the quality of it. Sure the combat is a little clunky but i like the story and it tries to do something different with the altering memory sequences.

well, not under rated, more of retro based, but a game I couldn't put down for years was a game called

Eye of the Beholder

I need to dig it out again, I get really far come across a door that I haven't got a key for :(

My god, I loved this game.

Thanks for the reminder about this :) Was having a snoop around and saw a mod called Warlords which is a Starwars mod for homeworld 2. Might have to dig my copy out and try this, gives me 2 fixes in one.

Also I can't believe I forgot this one (again on a Starwars note)... Star Wars: Rebellion. I remember ploughing hours into this game when it came out, an absolute gem of a game, makes we wan't to find a SW mod for Imperium Galactica 2 also (again this one is worth a go).
