I am sure Rivatuner could do this with my 2900XT
no as said above, riva tuner does not give you access to the driver settings if you have a ati card, they only do full nvidia support.

I dont know about your card and whether there are specific issues with that and ati tray tool but it certainly works fine with my x1900xt. I have a number of profiles set in ati tray tool e.g my 2D clocks, my 3D clocks and a few OC clocks. Then with the auto overclocking option i have my 2D clocks profile for 2D and then when a 3D app opens it runs my 3D clocks profile. All you have to do is make sure you tick the box "load selected profile at startup" when you save the 2D clocks profile to make it run at startup.
