Hi guys,

Quick question - An underfloor heating wire under a tile floor. How long approx from turning the wire on to feeling the tiles warm should it be?!

Anyone with this system?

Cheers guys!!!!!!

Lets just say then that if you're not noticing any heat at all after twenty minutes that we have a problem.

There are types of wire matting and many different thicknesses of floor tile. If lets say we're running a 150 watt per square meter matt under quarry tiling, about 8 mins and it should be warming. Thinner ceramic tiles, less. Marble tiling would likely be much longer. etc...

Cheers guys - had just wired it all in and was wondering if it is working after 5 minutes :D

Has been on for about 20 minutes now and the tiles are now not cold :D Getting warm in fact. Will leave it on for a bit longer to see how warm they get :D

Under floor heating is amazing. I didn't actually realise I had it until a week after I moved in :O I suppose it was nearly Summer, though. There is something quite nice about having toasty feet in the kitchen and bathroom.

insulation over the top of underfloor heating is epic fail, all its doing is stopping the heat getting to where is should be. Bonkers.
