Underpriced Audi A4 ??

I used to live near Ulverston as a kid!..

I see on AT that you get lots of incredibly bargainous examples that have "My phone isn't working, please use the e-mail address...." with the e-mail shown in a picture..

It should be at least £10k+ by my reckoning, but advertised as £7200. Knew it was too good to be true, i'll stick to my search for a nice ST220 :D

Come on, do you really need to ask?

Yes..

Since all scams are easy to spot, why not phone them on the offchance?

The only reason I can think of not at least a cursory phonecall is they had a premium rate phone number that cost £10 a minute.. but that's illegal and can't be done AFAIK?

Other then that, as long as you are savvy, and you see the car, ascertain it isn't a ringer/accident repair/In a container in Germany etc?

I know there is way more chance of it being a scam then not, but I can't see the harm in just phoning to see if it's something really obvious..

I wouldn't even bother wasting my time, why I hear you ask

The advert doesn't even talk about MOT, Tax, Service History, Mileage, they are generic dealer pictures with generic dealer blurb, the condition of the car is not mentioned, the phone number is hidden by PH Phone Safe so you will never know his real number as each time you call he can just hang up and call you back on a withheld number and the car is at least 3k under priced to what it should be.

Well the car doesn't have insurance on it currently.

If it's a dealer then this would be normal, but for a private sale definitely makes it seem a bit more suss. That said it could be that he's taken his private plate off the car since those pictures were taken

If you give him a ring about it, ask about the private plate and whether it's included with the car.
