Just got back from seeing this, the first one was one of my favorite films ever, so i had big expectations for this one

i wasnt dissapointed either, i didnt think it was as good as the first one, but it was still an awesome film. The gore in it was fantastic, a little excessive at times maybe but still :)

the way it expanded on the story was good, and it the history more

most importantly, more kate beckinsale, she again looked stunning

the ending was good and left open for a third which im pleased about :)

bring on the dvd :)
 
Saw it this afternoon. I thought it was better than the first. Loved the fact that it was 18 so it allowed them to do a lot more with the action. CGI was not over the top which I loved so there was a sense of realism even though were dealing with vampires and werewolves lol.

Kate Beckinsale mmm.
 
I too saw this film today and indeed Kate Beckinsale was hot and the catsuit was tight.

But it still didn't change the fact this film sucked. It was a direct sequel to the last and it would have helped if it had come out sooner to the first rather than fill the damn thing with flash backs to try and explain the "plot". The plot was awful totally lacking in purpose. The acting was naff, plainly everyone was interested in the size of their checks and not the performances they gave . The special effects didn't have half the panache the first film did.

In my opinion it was shadow of the former movie which although itself fun was no means a 5-star film.
 
I've just got in from seeing it & I have to say I was pretty impressed, the opening scene was nice & well staged.

There was some nice blood & gore which is always a plus for me.

Plot was a little thin but then I wasnt expecting too much else from that really.

Only downside I did find really was that some of the fighting was a little too dark so made some bits really hard to see but other than that not all bad at all

Just got in from seeing it - very impressed. Kate Beckensale in a sex scene isnt something you see everyday ;)

Looking forward to the DVD - should get a bit better quality than the cinema.

Only thing I wish is that they didnt try to explain the back plot too much otherwise it woulda been brilliant to watch the two films back to back as they carry straight on.
 
********POSSIBLE SPOILER******** saw it last friday, but I have one question....so excuse me for probably being thick....but if Markus was a hybrid between a vampire and a werewolf, then why did he have wings, with massive talons on the end, and bear no resemblance to a wolf whatsoever? well thats what I thought anyway. Other than that it was a great film.
 
Saw this at the weekend. Really liked it though i missed the first two minutes, so not sure if i missed anything bigish.
I think it was better than the first one a little, just because they could do a lot more with it being an 18. Cant wait for the special edition DVD to be out :D

he was the one bitten by a bat, first generation vampire thing maybe?

as lycans were different to, not being able to change back

only thing i can think of

Markus was bitten by Bat
William was bittenr by Lycan

MArkus during the first films was sleeping & as we saw then Viktor had to be awoken by blood Selene's in that instance.

Markus had to be awoken the same way however his blood came from a Lycan...the scientist who was killed by Viktor in the first movie

So in theory he is exactly the same as michael but in reverse...Bitten by bat then Lycan so will have more Vampire traits than Lycan

Got that??? :p

Well thats how I grasped the concept anyway...probably completley wrong but seemed like the simplest explanantion :D
 
I think they just wanted to make him look as badass as possible :p

Btw one thing that intrigued me, during the sex scene does michael a 25inch penis or something since he was half way up her body :p
 
Just watched the film, wasn't very good to be honest, watchable I suppose.
Total no brainer, better than the first film though (mostly at least) I must say.

Thats what I thought too.....it was the lack of werewolf traits that made me ponder it, cheers. Would have been cool to see a lycan bitten by a vampire and then take on some vampire traits, so it would be the opposite of markus.
 
ah i am about to go see this...

could someone do me a favour and remind me of the story of the first one. i rmember vaguely that i was about vampires hunting werewolves (but i cant remember why) and also how that one dude became super 'ard by become part vampire and part werewolf and he fought some super hard vampire at the end (what was he?)
