Uni Question

its a GNVQ or VCE in ICT Which is graded at pass/merit/distinction pass is 4 c's the course is equivalent to 4 gcse's

So then it's a GNVQ like everybody has been saying and not a GCSE. It's the equivalent, and you would put down on your UCAS that it is a GNVQ. Pay attention to what everyone wrote next time or double check in future :)

Like everybody said... put down GNVQ, as that's the qualification you have.

its gnvq intermediate which is the equivalent to FOUR C's at GCSE Level.

It doesn't matter what it's the equivalent of. The fact is it's a GNVQ (intermediate or whatever) so that is what you put on your UCAS form. Putting down that you have 4 GCSEs is giving false information, as you do not have 4 GCSEs in IT, you have the EQUIVALENT, and the UCAS application process has GNVQs listed as qualifications when you apply.

If you tell a Uni you have 4 GCSEs in IT, and they then ask ffor proof and you produce a GNVQ certificate, they won't be happy, whether it's equivalent or not. Tell them what you ACTUALLY have, not what the equivalent is.

no i will be putting down gnvq intermediate but i just hope they understand which they should do what its worth.

Well it's "equivalent" to 4 GCSEs, therefore it will give the same number of UCAS pointss as 4 Cs at GCSE (320 I believe). Yes, they aren't stupid.

Nope, the official offer for example could say 240 UCAS points, with at least 2 Cs at at A-level or equivalent. The equivalent will count theoretically towards your points. Its not exactly points, but it will be seen as the equivalent of the A-levels and considered as points that way. (My daddy works with admissions tutors :) )

depends where you go, also B-tech is accepted at some unis.

However im 99% sure all of the 'this is equivalent to 2 GCSE's' malarkey is a load of poo. And in the real world it's luck to be classed at 1.

Can anyone help me with my UCAS application?

I have entered the qualifications I have already obtained, but I can't seem to add the subjects which I'm currently taking.

Thanks.

EDIT: When I try and add subjects the normal way (as in if I was just adding qualifications already under my belt) it doesn't allow me to select 'pending' as a result. It keeps saying I must add a grade.
