uninstall Nvidia driver for GPU upgrade?

You shouldn't 'need' to, but it's a good habit to get into when updating Nvidia drivers. During the driver install, tick the custom settings box and you'll get the option to do a clean install. This will wipe the old driver and install all the new driver components in its place.

Spot on. Don't bother with a driver cleaner or any of that crap as the installer has a built in option that I've NEVER had an issue with.

cheers fellow so all i have to do is install gpu and than should i use geforce experience to install the driver or manually select and install the driver also would both methods give me the option to do custom install "custom settings box and you'll get the option to do a clean install"

Install G1
Switch PC on
Download latest drivers for G1
Run driver install, instead of express install choose Custom
This will bring up a list of features to install, beneath the list is a tick box "Clean install", tick that box & it will wipe your old drivers first

I've had issues when switching between nV and AMD, and ended up reinstalling Windows to fix minor gripes.

Never had issues upgrading within the same brand tho.

Would generally avoid any program such a driver cleaner, etc. Probably do more harm than good. Reinstalling Windows is literally a 10 min job these days if you use VMs to prep your image.
