Uninstalling an OSX update - Sound issue

Guys

I have a major problem and need your help.

I have installed the latest osx update and now have a problem. I have my Imac connected to an amp which is connected to my ceiling speakers. Before the update i could set the amp to 7.1 and would get sound via all speakers. Could also set to Hall, Arena, 2.1 etc.

But now i can't change this at all, the AMP just says NOT AVAILABLE. I can't set it to 7.1 and am currently only getting sound via 2 speakers!!!

How do i uninstall this silly update?! I do not have time machine set up sadly.

Check the "Audio Midi Setup" utility isn't now using a different source. Otherwise you're going to have to clean install.

Look in your Utilities folder and open it. Either from finder in the Applications folder or from Launchpad.

I had a similar problem with an audio device post update, and my only solution has been to rollback to the older 10.7.1 Apple kext for AppleHDA.

I have uploaded it here. Use with caution etc.

Backup AppleHDA.kext from /System/Library/Extensions, and replace it with the one I uploaded. Do a proper full reboot and fingers crossed it will be sorted. I had terrible crackling through my USB sound card post 10.7.2 and with the old kext, it works fine.
