I agree with him, when Hamilton's car was simply slow because it was damaged, there is nothing wrong with asking whats up and if it's worth continuing. There is no real reason any drive should be able to do 1:44-45's fine but is now struggling, it does suggest something is wrong.

hamilton always starts off conservatively, you wonder how Hamilton in 90% of races saves tires and fuel over ROsberg, it's not hammering it either in the first few laps of a stint or in the first stint(heaviest car, biggest penalty for pushing).
