I could do with a universal remote to take charge or my TV, DVD & Sky+... anyone know if there is such a thing?

One for all make a good range of universal remotes, they can control standard sky but i'm not sure about sky+. They are about £60 though.

Why not just use the Sky+ remote to control Sky and TV functions?

I have never found a good one for all remote other than something like a Pronto.

Even the logitech harmonys I have not had good experiences with.

My pronto NG rocks, it controls my Av amp, DVD, Sky+ and Pioneer Plasma.

Macros are fantastic, one touch, all on and ready to watch sky, dvd, play xbox360. One touch all off etc.

Only issue, is programming, as it can be a little long winded. Its far easier to go to remotecentral.com and use other control sets and customise them for your own use.
PC software is a doddle to use.

Excellent thanks. Do both of these remotes above actually let you program Sky+ etc and will they let you change the between different inputs on the TV?

I guess what I'm asking is do they give you all the functionality of your old remotes or is it the basic functions you get?

Yep, the pronto is an colour LCD touch screen with a number of hard huttons for volume, channel, mute and others.
its FULLY programmable and customisable. Have a look here for more info.

Logitech Harmony series here (i have the 555)

525 here .. for £45 its a bargain, does macros, one button press and it turns on my tv, amp, xbox 360 and switches the tv channel, amp input etc etc. Lazy but very useful.

I have the Logitech Harmony 885 and it's great, does my tv, Sky +, DVD player, Kiss player, Video, Minidisc player, AV Amp and CD player perfectly, although the activity functions are a bit hit and miss, no real problem.

Google for Cambridge M1, I have one, got it for £30 and it deals with all my systems no bother.

CambridgeAudio's site has links for buying one. - price around.

harmony 525 has great functionality.

The buttons could be better though.
Still the model above just costs far too much so the 525 is more than good enough.
