University Advice Needed

AFAIK there aren't any "general" Engineering Degees around that are worth their salt. The most broad would be Mechanical Engineering IMO.

I thought that the general engineering design degree from Bristol university would have been worthwhile (assuming I could get in). Reason I intended to do this degree is because I can't for the life of me decide 'right, this is definately the one sole thing I want to do'. So I was hoping this would allow me to maybe get into different engineering industries like nuclear or mechanical or maybe even electrical / civil once I had finished my degree.

Will speak to the college to see if I can push to take an A-level then ring up some universities and see what they say about this situation on Monday, thanks for the advice so far :)

Right, bit of an update!

Decided to go with the a-level, tried speaking to the maths department on monday but unfortunately the person I needed to speak to was unavailable until today. Had a talk to see what could be done, and it seems that every single maths AS lesson clashes with my timetable. But, I've been given an initial assessment to complete by next Friday, once that's done I'll be able to start AS Maths this year. :)

As for completing the whole A-level in one year, I think that might be a bit too much. I cant afford to make a single slip up this year (and that wasnt because my grades where bad last year either, they have added and raised the grade requirements recently), one slip up and I won't be able to get into some of the better universities such as maybe Bristol or Oxford (purely IF I decide to go that way, unlikely but it's always better to try and keep those doors open). The A2 will have to be finished next year.

Thanks for the advice OcUK! :)
