Hey, Just a few questions about University. i've had my letter of acceptance from the University and I've accepted that offer within UCAS. All of my student finance has been approved and they sent me a letter telling me what I was entitled to, with an accompanying form that I had to sign and send back, which I did recorded. Anyway, my question is the following. I haven't heard from the University yet, I'm a bit worried because it's August now and my course starts around the first quarter of September, I however have not had any more correspondence from the University apart from a welcoming letter a month or so ago. Is there something I should have received? UCAS has assured me that I need to do nothing if I've accepted my offer, Is this true? What about enrolment and such?

Thanks in advance. :)

get in touch with the university to put your mind at rest - remember they do it for thousands of people every year so they are not as stressed as you (naturally) are

enjoy uni, you lucky *******!

Why is he lucky going to Uni. Im starting year 2 in September and I'm already bored beyond the point of insanity on my course... still, I need a degree to go on to do gruadate training somewhere lol.

If you are worried then just call the uni. 3 days before i was meant to be at uni i still didnt have any accommodation in halls, when i contacted them they hadnt decided to allocate me any. I luckily still managed to get in to my first choice

I had a brilliant time at university and absolutely loved it. Regardless of your course (my first degree was totally forgetable) if you can't enjoy all the good stuff that goes with university: the promiscuity, the nights out, the miniscule expectations of your time compared to a life of work, you need to revaluate how you are approaching university and make sure you enjoy it while you can.
That is why he is a lucky *******!

AS and A-Level results have not been released yet. I would expect to receive more information about your course once they have done the mass processing of the 90%+ of their annual admissions that they deal with at the end of August?

Should have done medicine ;)

Where is your Biology course? It can get a bit tedious during the first and second years, but hopefully your final your will be very stimulating when you really get stuck into it.

University was not the best time of my life in terms of partying, it was a means for which to better myself and get a good job. I studied hard right from day 1, I was in the library till closing time some times in my first year.

Just because you aren't enjoying it, doesn't mean he won't.

I guess lol.

Nitefly: Im currently revising protostomes and deutrostomate animals... lol I'm not sure how much of that you did, but remembering all the phyla/class/orders is extremely tedious and I will never use it in my life!*

*probably.

If you needed to do that then you were doing something wrong. The first year is not meant to be academically intense. For most degrees the first year doesn't even count towards your overall mark.

Yep, that's first year material right there :D

Very tedious it is too.

Biology completely comes to life in light of evolution. Regurgitating facts about animal groups or anatomy is undeniably boring, but understanding why and how their physiology is the way that it is can be incredibly engaging :)

I ended up enjoying flowering plants the most :o

Where are you based?

Because when you get to the point like me, where you've just graduated, you really really really wanna go back.

OP, trust me when I say you are ahead of most people :)

There's possibly thousands of people having problems with student finance (a month since i posted my evidence and forms, and still no response).
You've accepted your firm/insurance offers, (sorted accomodation?) and done your finance forms, so now you just have to wait till results day when your place will be confirmed, lost, or whatever happens.
