It's not too late - if you apply directly to the university you can even contact the admissions tutor the week the course starts. A guy at my uni did. He was annoyed with a similar course at another uni so emailed Peter, had an interview that day and started the next.
you have till 30th june to start in september 2008 !
i applied in may last year and started in september. was lucky though because mate who applied at same time didnt get on the course
as for there not been places left, rubbish! youve got your grades already. there will be loads of A level people who dont get the grades they where expecting and get moved to the back of the line.

Aye, I understand this, but what I don't get is if I apply towards the end of this year-January time, then the course I apply for won't start until September 2010?
This is what I gather from some course details I read on UCAS.

You could apply for clearing, it's not unheard of to get into a good university / on a good course at short notice. You'd need to rush your student loan though, and you'd probably get it quite late.
the loan thing is all a big mess too. got mine in time and didnt apply till august because of how much i messed everything up. few mates just got theres a week late.
depends on your local authority i guess for that though
must be wrong then. you can still apply for 2008 courses till the 30th of this month . everytime you pass a UCAS deadline they seem to just add other ones on.
i remember when i was applying college would keep going on about that id missed this deadline missed that deadline. still got in fine even with a few points less than the offer was for (didnt even need clearing)
not having a go at anyone in particular but is it just me who thinks theres always loads of scaremongering in education threads on here. its like the GCSE threads where people always tell the kids the must get all As to do anythign with there life. or that they can never go to uni with a D amongst there GCSEs.
