One of the guys came to me yesterday with a CPU which I've never seen before. It's 45mm x 45mm and it looks old. It bears Intels name on it (actually the top of the processor says "Intel Confidential QBCB"). Which was curious in itself. Now the thing that really sticks out is on the pin side of the CPU, I've not counted them, but the same guy that brought the chip to me got about a 3rd of the way counting them before giving up and he says he got to over 450pins, that would suggest this CPU has in excess of 1300 pins.
I admit I've not kept up with developments or announcements, but the guy who gave this chip to me has excitedly proclaimed that he thinks we have around 10 socket 1366 CPU's probably prototypes.
Any thoughts on this?
