I've just received a conformation of registration from Nominet, for a domain called valhallacommunications.co.uk at my home address. This was apparently registered to my address on the 15th November 2006. (about 1 month after I moved in).
I have no knowledge of this domain.
The name on the letter was "host station".
Now I've called Nominet and told them I have no idea what this is about, and they have assured me that if I return the letter to them, they will strike my address from their records, but it concerns me that it has happened in the first place.
I've tried doing a WHOIS on the domain, but the details are not available. There is a valhallacommunications.com registered to an address in the US, but nothing I can find this side of the water.
Has anyone ever encountered this?
Am I being paranoid thinking it is anything more than a simple clerical error, or should I be right to be concerned?
**edit** just checked with the missus, and we didn't actually take ownership of the property until about the 24th November, so I'd hope that would limit any potential liability if it turned out to be malicious.
