I'm having a bit of a odd problem that i cannot work out if its down to my graphics card

I used to be able to have a YouTube video open in one monitor in full screen whilst at the same time playing a game but recently if i have a video open and a game the video will lagg allot even at 240p, Does anyone know of a way to stop this? I have a GTX 580, This is really making it hard to play games with a guide.
