got a weird problem that i cannot seem to solve, last night i disassembled PC, to find two of my RAM modules dead. anyways thats not the issue at hand, after reassembling, everything connected in right place with right leads, etc. it POSTs fine but then, since im using a new hard disk i am trying to install windows vista again but i cannot seem to get PC to recognise my DVD-ROM drive, its IDE drive connected to the only IDE port on my motherboard, could this be a BIOS problem or something more serious? should i try pulling CMOS battery and clearing CMOS, might that work? thanks to anyone who can assist :)

no, the only drives there are my two samsung drives which are plugged into SATA-II 0 and 1 i think, but there is not sign of it in BIOS, thats what makes me think its CMOS issue, PC has been out of commision for a while and wasn't in working condition (due to defective RAM modules, may have been messed up with power losses around here a while ago, power coming on and off around twelve times in a day) its definately connected alright and such, and the IDE cable is the one i was using before (when it worked)...im stumped, and can't reinstall windows until i can get drive working...:(

ha, i love the 'nevermind' post! :D but yeah its fixed and working fine, pulled CMOS battery, left it for about six hours, popped it back in and its detected and windows is reinstalled, sweet! ;)
