Hi Guys,

I'm currently on a plan with my Blackberry which is as follows:

1200 Mins
600 Texts
Unlimited Data
Unlimited Blackberry Data

I'm quite happy with how it's all going and that - however i've been reading dribs and drabs about unlimited data, no longer being unlimited.

Have Orange switched to 500MB Cap? If so, is this a clause that I can cancel my contract with?

Hopefully there's a clear answer!

Thanks.

it is a 750mb Fair usage policy. So if you go over 750mb a lot then they will monitor your usage and may give you a telling off or something.

the 500mb is for limited plans and that is a hard cap ( i.e you start to pay instantly if you go over)

Have you got a link to anything stating that Jono8? I'm sure when I looked recently that it was 500mb even to those with "unlimited data" on their tariffs, like me.

The most you can get from Orange is 750MB, so it certainly wont be unlimited whatever the case.

In short, you wont be able to cancel, its been like this a long time :(

Not on Panther with unlimited data which is subject to a fair usage policy.

I don't see how they can cap you subject to fair usuage when they have already stated unlimited and other users such as myself are on something like Dolphin with a 500mb cap.

If they are anything like Vodafone, they can do what they like and then run out of things to say and just ignore you, and there's still nothing you can do about it. :p

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for all the replies.

As reference - this is what a month usually looks like for me..

Orange Mobile internet data 21.1989 0.000
Orange BlackBerry data 1486.9574 0.000

As you can see, my BlackBerry data is pretty high. I've never been charged yet for any of my useage, so it seems it isn't capped. Just wondered where I stood with regards to all the other networks that are currently changing.

Was a bit of a cheeky get out clause I hoped :p

This might be a special case - BlackBerry Data is on a separate APN for Orange and thus might not be monitored in the same way. Mobile Internet is the other APN.

The FUP for 750megs is roughly go over it by X amount, 3 months in a row and expect a word, then a forced limit if you do it again. I'm not sure what X is though.

I always go over the FUP on orange (Youtube and streaming TVcatchup on iPhone) but since getting a Desire ive calmed down with no tvcathup.

But now thats up on Android im sorry Orange but it's time to rape your network again :(
