So I have come across a very unfortunate situation where I'm going to have to break the law to unload from my car onto a boat at Lambeth Pier. I have been advised by the owners of the boat to drive up on the pavement

What should I expect? It'll take me all of about 10 minutes. I know I'm looking at a £65 fine, but there isn't anything else I should be worrying about is there? Is it a criminal offence?

Given recommendations, there will be someone remaining with the car at all times just in case.

Council were completely unhelpful, but they don't deal with red routes anyway, that's TFL.

The pavement is my only option. Hopefully it'll be alright for 10 mins.

is the £30 non-enforceable fine only for the front number plate being missing? curveball suggestion if it is for both plates, take both plates off, park, unload, drive off, refit plates.....risk = £30 fine?

.....Dont blame me if this goes horribly wrong :D

Before I worked in London I'd never seen a red route before either.

Short version, no stopping at any time (even taxi's etc).

It's just a fine, no points iirc. Get fined? Bill who your stopping with if it is for business

Yeah only emergency services and utility workers (thames water etc) can park on them afaik. They also have them in Birmingham.
