Unloading on double reds

Also, time critical, and it's 300KG of PA for a party...
Get a trolley, park up the road in the car park and wheel it all down in a few trips.

300kg isn't that much PA - I've shifted mixing desks weighing more than that over worse terrain :p

Ahhhhh, the joys of gigging in London! Looks like a PITA long multi-trip load in for the OP - I personally wouldn't take the chance of stopping on a red route to unload.

I totally agree with you, but the time restriction doesn't allow for this. We have to be on the boat within half an hour.

The fine will be paid by the organiser, as we actually discussed this at time of booking, so to me, if there's only the possibility of the fine, then why not park on the red route nice and close!

Cheers for the help guys

I think black cabs can stop on red route ( they've certainly picked me up on them before.)

You could always park legally close and load up a black cab ( or a couple) and get them to drop you as close to the boat as possible.

If you have 5 working days left before you leave, apply for a dispensation:

Yeah only emergency services and utility workers (thames water etc) can park on them afaik. They also have them in Birmingham.

Buy beaten up old pickup and several hi-viz jackets.
Put down some cones.
Stand around doing no work and drinking cups of awful tea/coffee out of polystyrene cups.
Unload kit.
Reverse procedure.
Sorted :p

If the pa gear is any good, it will have wheels. So just wheel it from the nearest car park! I've pushed and carried far worse than that across fields before!

Park up on the pavement leaving enough room either side of you for disable access and you might get away with it.
