Unlocking AMD phenom x2

I really wouldnt ***** 60 quid on a new motherboard for the chance of unlocking a core.

Might spray the cash and be in the same situation.

Be a better idea to flog your current chip and buy a propper quad if you want one.

There's a list somewhere on the internet with a list of successful/unsuccessful unlocks along with the batch number and other details. From that you can get an idea if yours will unlock. Mine is a 0940FPMW and it unlocks on a Gigabyte 790X UD4P (this seems to be a good board for unlocking)

Best option is to find someone who has a board that can unlock - test the chip - then make an educated decision.

PII B50 is a very powerful chip for the money.
