Hey there

So basically I want to make the most out of my memory, especialy when gaming, so are there any programs out there or some way to detect which processes running on your PC aren't really needed and are just taking up memory when it could be used for something else?

I use FreeRAM XP Pro aswell but that doesn't really tell you what processes you can safely cancel, it just tries to free up a bit of spare memory which is pretty good but yeah, I'm looking for a program that can detect the usefullness of processes and which ones to close etc.

Thanks for your help and time.

If you're running 4GB then I wouldn't even bother trying to free RAM up to the level of stopping services running. Just don't leave an HD movie playing in the background and you'll be fine.

No, I'm not running 4GB, what I'm trying to say is I currently have 2GB DDR Ram in my PC, but I am upgrading my PC with a new motherboard, processor and memory, and I am moving to DDR2 memory, and I have bought 2GB of Corsair XMS2 DDR2 as part of the upgrade, so I will still have 2GB memory.
