'Here it is, part of the Unreal Engine 4 tech demo shown behind closed doors earlier this year, from GameTrailers. Unreal Engine 4 wasn’t powering the new games on show at E3, so it’ll be a while before we start seeing games using this tech, but it gives us a good look at the levels of spitshine we can look forward to in the coming years.

There’s also another video that rolls lots of the techniques shown above into one sequence. It shows an armoured demon waking up and walking outside for a bit of a stretch. He takes his time about it though, so we can get a look at the new effects that Epic’s next generation engine has to offer. Take a look.'

That was seriously impressive, especially the huge number of real-time dynamic effects. Can't wait till some games are released with this engine, preferably a fantasy-adventure game of some sort as engine seems perfectly suited for that type of environment.

Que every game being on Unreal Engine 4 now. Sure it's pretty as it is, wait till 'next gen' till all the games look the same.

Interesting.

In the next few days/weeks am due to upgrade pc.

Was going to go for:

3570k
GTX 670 (on of the oc variety)
8GB ram

Shouldnt be far behind the spec they are using to run this game??

Kind of wondering if its worth the extra £70 to get the 3770k.... not sure how much of an improvement it would be in a game that DOES utilise more than 8 threads efficiently... in the future.

Probably the case that the 3770k would produce higher fps, but that the 3570k would still produce high enough fps for the experience to be smooth.

Or do you think its better to future proof a bit considering I will keep the cpu for 4 years.

Remember it's not a game, its a tech demo.

Take into account, there is very little going on in it as well, factor in fighting/jumping/explosions/motion blurr etc all happening at once, what's going to happen?

You'll probably need the latest and greatest SLI/CrossFire that's available by the time they get an actual game out the door, if you want all the candy.

Very true.

Elemental video brings me back to that Radeon 9800 Pro lava caves screensaver.

I see they are using 16gb of memory.

Any particular reason, or does the demo perform better with extra memory, or will we need it, when the games come out?
