When I loaded the map, spec showed up recommended 12 core and 64GB RAM. I got 32GB, surprised it ate nearly whole 32GB RAM when I walked around city and unreal editor crashed when I tried to turned on RTSS OSD to take screenshot with fps so it seemed I will need 64GB to run City Sample map and RTSS OSD turned on at same time. I tried enabled fps in unreal editor and used snipping tool tried to take screenshot but fps nosedived from 35-45 fps to 5 fps. That on 1080p.

People on youtube played City Sample with RTSS on without issue all are on 64GB RAM.

Look like next generation games used DirectStorage may increase RAM to 64GB recommended and games used DirectStorage with ultra high resolution texture mods probably will need 128GB RAM and very large NvMe storage size like 512GB for 1 game.

Walked about on city was incredible life like and very impressed there was no texture pop ins at all.

This same as the xbox demo? Runs as good?
No idea, I don’t have an Xbox or a PlayStation. Just a Switch :)

I have not installed it yet either as I don’t want to have to install the epic launcher. If there are no ways of installing it without that crap I might give it a go just before my next clean install of windows

Found other mirror.

I am very surprised City Sample compiled file size is 17GB, it ran fine up to 45 fps with maxed 100% traffic, crowd and parked cars. RTSS is worked showed it used over 18GB RAM so it will need PCs with 32GB RAM minimum to run the demo. It probably will fail to run on PCs with 16GB RAM.

I am blew away how stunning ray traced photo realism the massive size of life like open world in the tiny 17GB demo with zero blurred 12K textures put Watch Dogs 2 tiny 50GB map and GTA V 100GB small world map with blurred 1K-4K textures to shame. DirectStorage is really very impressed worked flawlessly, cant wait to play Unreal Engine 5 games soon. :D

Nice one, was going to look eventually

Downloading now, hope RAM usage is reserved and not required.. really want to see how 3060 ti handles EU5 at 1080p :(

Just saw a post on Nvidia reddit that someone managed ran City Sample on RTX 3080 and 16GB RAM but get 10-20 fps while RAM at 100% usage. So RTX 3060 Ti probably get 5-10 fps run like slideshow on 16GB RAM. :(

City Sample absolutely need 32GB RAM minimum to run at playable fps.

This isn't even close to being optimized, so don't base your expectations of what UE5 will be capable of in future games on what this demo is - heck, even the console versions (which were heavily optimized to the respective hardware) run at sub-30 fps. It's a fun glimpse of the future, but how close we are to actual games of this fidelity won't be apparent for a while yet.
